The Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation is located in Boerne, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country just 25 minutes north of San Antonio, on a scenic 500 acre ranch. Since 1989, students from San Antonio, Bandera, Kerrville, Boerne, Comfort and surrounding areas have benefited from exposure to visiting artists and professors through the residency program at the ranch. In 2006, programs were expanded to include a variety of enrichment programs for community participation.
Our courses offer 6-11 weeks of art instruction by professional artists/educators in a variety of art media, techniques, and topics. Courses meet for 3 hours once a week, and are offered for all levels of experience.
Workshops offer focused instruction in specialized topics in a shorter format. Depending on the topic, they will range in duration from half a day to a week.
MRAF students and other interested artists may utilize the studio facilities at certain times during the week for the pursuit of their creative interests. Check with administrative staff for details.
The gallery space hosts exhibits of a broad spectrum of artists' works, including that of visiting artists, our instructors, area artists, and MRAF students. Opening receptions are an opportunity for the public to meet and celebrate the artists and their work.
The Majestic Ranch hosts lectures by scholars and artists on art-related topics, and slide lectures by exhibiting artists and instructors. Performances include music, poetry readings, and events by performance artists. Other events celebrating and benefiting the arts are held throughout the year and provide opportunities for fun, inspiration, and fellowship in our unique setting.
